3rd Annual Wash-N-Wag Event (Dog Wash and Fundraiser to benefit Sullivan County Humane Society's Low-Cost Spay/Neuter Program)

Kingsport Town Center (formerly Fort Henry Mall) and the Sullivan County Humane Society are partnering to present a community dog wash to benefit SNIP (Spay/Neuter Impact Program), a low cost spay neuter program for companion animals in Sullivan County. Wash-N-Wag will offer dog washes for dogs up to 100 lbs for an $8 donation and a $12 donation for dogs over 100 lbs.

Media sponsor Electric 94.9 FM will be broadcasting live from the Kingsport Town Center spreading the important message of pet spay & neuter and helping to raise money for SNIP. Girls Inc. of Kingsport will be onsite holding a pet food/supply drive for the SBK-Kingsport Animal Shelter. The humane society will be offering fresh-baked snacks for your furry family members. You can come by to donate to the Sullivan County Humane Society, collect educational materials on having a pet in your family, as well as adopt a dog or puppy from the SBK-Kingsport Animal Shelter. Local breed specific rescue groups will on hand to educate on the importance of rehoming and will have information about how to foster or adopt. We will also have information about SNIP low cost spay & neuter and how to become an active volunteer with the Sullivan County Humane Society.

Join us for the 3rd Annual Wash-N-Wag at the Kingsport Town Center (lower parking lot at the intersection of Fort Henry Drive and Memorial Boulevard) on Saturday, August 18th from 1:00-5:00 p.m. Load up the dog and come on down for an afternoon of fun and information, dog washing and tail wagging!

The purpose of the Sullivan County Humane Society is to support and advance the humane treatment of animals, primarily companion pets, through spay/neuter services, adoption promotion, and animal welfare education. In December 2010, the humane society began the Spay Neuter Impact Program (SNIP) to target the low cost spay/neuter of companion animals currently in homes. Pet overpopulation is the biggest problem facing companion animals in our area. Each year in Sullivan County 75% of shelter cats and 28% of shelter dogs do not find homes. SNIP has assisted in spay or neuter surgery of over 1,000 pets. SNIP is funded 100% by donations and volunteer fundraising activities. For more information, visit
